Nothing is public by default. A group sees only the entries you specifically tag to it. A friend — once you have both agreed to the friendship — sees your whole watched history and watch list, including entries you never tagged to a group. You can turn that off in Settings → Privacy, and you can remove a friend at any time. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Groups are invite-only. Ask a member for the group’s invite code — they can find it by tapping the group’s name at the top of its screen — then enter it on the Groups tab.
Open Your Stats → Friends. You can either pick someone from “People you may know” (people who share a group with you), or enter the friend code someone has given you. There is no searchable user directory, which is deliberate — nobody can look you up without something you handed them.
When you watch something with a group, another member can credit you for it, which creates an unrated entry in your history. You will see a notification when this happens. If it was a mistake, swipe the entry away in your watched list.
Settings → Change password.
See the account deletion page.
Movie data comes from The Movie Database (TMDB), a community-maintained catalogue. Corrections need to be made at themoviedb.org, and will appear in Slate Mate once TMDB has updated.
